Heaven, I'm in Heaven
and my heart beats so that I can hardly speak
And I seem to find the happiness I seek
When we're out together dancing Cheek to Cheek
Heaven, I'm in Heaven
And the cares that hang around me through the week
Seem to vanish like a gamblers lucky streak
When we're out together dancing Cheek to Cheek
Oh, I love to climb a mountain
and to reach the highest peak
But it doesn't thrill me half as much
As dancing Cheek to Cheek
Oh, I love to go out fishing
In a river or a creek
But I don't enjoy it half as much
As dancing Cheek to Cheek
Dance with me
I want my arm about you
The charm about you
will carry me through to Heaven
I'm in Heaven
And my heartbeats so that I can hardly speak
And I seem to find the happiness I seek
When we're out together dancing Cheek to Cheek.

(Spoken verse)
I was a stranger in the city
Out of town were the people I knew
I had that feeling of self-pity
What to do, what to do, what to do
The outlook was decidedly blue
But as I walked through the foggy streets alone
It turned out to be the luckiest day I've known
(Sung verse)
A foggy Day, in London Town
Had me low, had me down
I viewed the morning with much alarm
British Museum, had lost it's charm
How Long I wondered
Could this thing last
But the age of miracles, hadn't passed
For suddenly, I saw you there
And through foggy London Town
The sun was shinning everywhere
For suddenly, I saw you there
And through foggy London Town
The sun was shinning everywhere
Everywhere
Everywhere
Everywhere

The Summer Wind came blowin' in from across the sea
It lingered there, to touch your hair, and walk with me
All summer long we sang a song and then we strolled that golden sand
two sweethearts and the summer wind
Like painted kites, those days and nights, they went flyin' by
The world was new, beneath a blue, umbrella sky
Then softer than a piper man, one day it called to you
I lost you, I lost you to the summer wind
The autumn wind, and the winter winds, they have come and gone.
And still the days, those lonely days, they go on and on
And guess who sighs his lullabies through nights
that never end
My fickle friend, the summer wind
the summer wind
Warm summer wind
The summer wind

This is just a little samba
built on a single note
other notes are bound to follow
but the root is still that note
Now this new note is the consequence
of the one we've just been through
As I'm bound to be
The unavoidable consequence of you
There's so many people
who can talk and talk and talk
and just say nothing
or nearly nothing
I have used up all the scale
I know and at the end
I've come to nothing
I mean nothing
So I come back to my first note
As I come back to you
I will pour into that one note
All the love I feel for you
Any one who wants the whole show
Re mi fa so la ci do
He will find himself with no show
Better play that note you know.

I've never been in love before
now all at once it's you
it's you forevermore
I've never been in love before
I thought my heart was safe
I thought I knew the score
But this is wine that's all too strange and strong
I'm full of foolish songs
and out my song must pour
So please forgive this helpless haze I'm in
I've really never been in love before
But this is wine that's all too strange and strong
I'm full of foolish songs
and out my song must pour
So please forgive this helpless haze I'm in
I've really never been in love before

Fly me to the moon
Let me play among the stars
Let me see what love is like on
A-Jupiter and Mars
In other words, hold my hand
in other words, darling, kiss me
Fill my heart with joy and let me sing forever more
You are all I long for
All I worship and adore
In other words, please be true
In other words, I love you
Fill my heart with song
Let me sing for ever more
You are all I long for, all I worship and adore
In other words, Please be true
In other words,
In other words,
I love You

Won't you stop and take a little time out with me
Just take five
Stop your busy day
and take the time out to see if I'm alive.
Though I'm going out of my way
Just so I can pass by each day
Not a single word do we say
It's a pantomime and not a play.
Still, I know our eyes often meet
I feel tingle down to my feet
When you smile, that's much to discreet
sends me on my way
Wouldn't it be better
not to be so polite
you could offer a light
start a little conversation now
It's alright, just take five
Though I'm going out of my way
Just so I can pass by each day
Not a single word do we say
It's a pantomime and not a play.
Still, I know our eyes often meet
I feel tingle down to my feet
When you smile, that's much to discreet
sends me on my way
Wouldn't it be better

It's alright, just take five

East of the Sun and west of the moon
we'll build a dream house of love, dear
close to the sun in the day
near to the moon at night
we'll live in a lovely way dear
sharing our love in the pale moonlight
Just you and I, forever and a day
Love will not die, we'll keep it that way
Up among the stars we'll find a harmony of life to a
lovely tune
East of the Sun and west of the moon, dear
east of the sun and west of the moon.

I have often walked down the street before
But the pavement always stayed beneath my feet before
all at once am I several stories high
Knowing I'm on the street where you live.
Are there lilac trees in the heart of town
Can you hear a lark in any other part of town
Does enchantment pour
out of every door
No its just on the street where you live.
And, oh! the towering feeling
just to know somehow you are near
The overpowering feeling
that any second you might suddenly appear.
People stop and stare, they don't bother me
for there's no where else on earth
that I would rather be
Let the time go by
I won't care if I
Can be here on the street where you live.
People stop and stare, they don't bother me
for there's no where else on earth
that I would rather be
Let the time go by
I won't care if I
Can be here on the street where you live.
Let me be on the street where you live.

Over the past 6 years I've worked about 100 nights/year in The Lehigh Valley with more than 40 of the finest musicians I know. DAVE HARTL and TONY MARINO are among the very best. I'm always grateful having an opportunity to work together. I'm sure you'll enjoy listening to them infuse these standards with their heart and soul.
Dave's clean piano chops, sensibility and seemingly effortless technique keep you engaged through the range of emotion on each track. Tony's solid tone, impeccable timing and melodic phrasing carry his presence from the bottom through the top of every tune.
This CD was recorded live at a private event in Newtown Square, PA without rehearsal or much discussion. I prepared a set list and sent it to Dave and Tony. The charts were basic and the tunes are Standards, but there is magic in musical alchemy. The resulting improvised arrangements recorded in the moment kept each tune fresh and a pleasure to perform. The recorded set is an hour and includes two requests made at the bandstand (take Five & Summer Wind).
I've listed the tunes and composers for your reference. I thank you for supporting live jazz and hope you enjoy this CD and get to know more of these composers work. -George Torrella
