'Summer Wind' was composed by Heinz Meier in 1965 and released in Germany with lyrics by Hans Bradtke. Johnny Mercer popularized the tune in the U.S. with his English lyric and the help of Frank Sinatra. Summer Wind has since been recorded in English all over the world by singers as varied as Madeleine Peyroux and Michael Buble. It was a live request at the bandstand and here is the instrumental for your enjoyment as well as Johnny Mercer's lyrics for your reference. Thanks for supporting live jazz! - George Torrella
