Built around a Norwegian fairy tale, East of the Sun and West of the Moon was written by Brooks Bowman while a student at Princeton University for the production of a school play... and bang!... it was an immediate hit...recorded by many as both instrumental and vocal (most recently by Diana Krall). Unfortunately, Brooks Bowman died at age 24 in a car accident. His legacy of unwritten hits is foretold by this well respected standard. Our instrumental is on this CD and I've included lyrics for your reference. Enjoy, and thank you for supporting live jazz! -George Torrella
